Just a little update about my week

It's been a busy week for me, preparing essays and going for interviews. Hardly have any time to spend on my dress making hobby. Today I was at fin-exis, and financial advisory company. Very interesting way of selecting talents. We played cashflow. I think I have learned some valuable lessons. Seize the opportunity when it comes!

For those who are desperately waiting to see my accessories. Here are the previews. I have yet to come out with the names. So yes, just a sneak preview for DESperate! =)

My very 1st Skirt!

5 Days of labour:

Day 1: planning & cuting of fabric
Day 2: sew the pockets & hand stitch the beads onto the pockets
Day 3: sew the zip
Day 4: integrate the rests
Day 5: amendments and finalization

Pretty impressive! But didn't expect to take that long... I took a few trials to actually figure out how to sew the concealing zip onto the fabric! In addition, the attachment of waistline to the main portion of skirt as well as the slit opening at the back of the skirt, really need some tragics!

Well I'm proud of myself even thought it wasn't a perfect skirt, I feel. I'll be making another one sometime next week. Can't wait to go get some fabric tommorrow. Cheers!

My first prototype

3hrs of hard work making a protype of a skirt! I'm finally satisfied with this. Tomorrow, I shall start making the real one. Hope I'll be able to wear it next week. This first reason
for trying out tailoring is that I'm so interested. Second, I realized that on an average a skirt sold in market is about S$30+. So after checking out the necessary materials, I found that it is actually about 50% cheaper when the cost workmanship is ignored.

Matthew being a tax collector gave up his easy money career to follow Jesus. The bible didn't mention anything if he had doubted Jesus. Instead Matthew's reaction was a plain and simple, he got up and followed. Today, I want to surrender myself to Jesus, follow his calling and stop questioning-what if. God I pray that you use me in your Big Plan to shape me to be a better christian. It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. So likewise, God you use me.

Oh Boy, did I just disturbed your newspaper reading? My Pumpkin likes to take photo. But he is also not satisfied with anything except to go out for a run. Look at his fawning eyes... telling me how much he longs to run. Once I let him lose at a park and he ran away himself and came home after 45mins. For your information, my house is at the 11th storey. This is my clever boy, so intelligent that he knows the way home without me. I am so proud of you Pumpkin!

Pulau Ubin Cycling in Dec 2008

A very enjoyable and exciting day at the Pulau Ubin. As shown on the picture on the left, our team consists of Adriel, Joel, Myself, Nicholas and Fazial(not in photo).


Adriel look like a geisha when he applied sunblock on his face like nobody's business. Sorry Adriel, abit too exaggerated. Just too bad I didn't take a picture of that geisha look. However, I made a Before & After photoshop. Hope you like it.

My Customized Accessories

Like my customized accessories? One of my hobbies is to DIY accessories. The necklace on the right, its feature is that it is adjustable at any length to fit any clothes.


I particularly liked the first ring. It gives a retro feeling with its red base and also reminds me of the beaches with its top finished. The second ring at the bottom has a strong sense of Indonesia culture and a touch of modern look.


I dream of setting up a online shop, but have no experience. In this period of economic recession, being active in looking for jobs seems not enough. I hope I can create some income by making accessories. However, I do need help. I would be very glad to hear some advices on publicity and probably comment on my accessories too.


My Branding Name: The Upper Room (My The Upper Room was my original plan, but I just realized it is an organization name. Forgive me for the copyright rule for a moment. I am still thinking for another name.)
My Reason for The Upper Room: Mark 14:14,15
"Say to the owner of the house he enters, 'The Teacher asks: Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?' He will show you a large upper room, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there."
From the verses above, we can see that the upper room was a place used for holding important event. I Hope my friends who visits the my online shop would feel welcome in The Upper Room and also be pleased with what I have to offer.
