Just a little update about my week

It's been a busy week for me, preparing essays and going for interviews. Hardly have any time to spend on my dress making hobby. Today I was at fin-exis, and financial advisory company. Very interesting way of selecting talents. We played cashflow. I think I have learned some valuable lessons. Seize the opportunity when it comes!

For those who are desperately waiting to see my accessories. Here are the previews. I have yet to come out with the names. So yes, just a sneak preview for DESperate! =)

My very 1st Skirt!

5 Days of labour:

Day 1: planning & cuting of fabric
Day 2: sew the pockets & hand stitch the beads onto the pockets
Day 3: sew the zip
Day 4: integrate the rests
Day 5: amendments and finalization

Pretty impressive! But didn't expect to take that long... I took a few trials to actually figure out how to sew the concealing zip onto the fabric! In addition, the attachment of waistline to the main portion of skirt as well as the slit opening at the back of the skirt, really need some tragics!

Well I'm proud of myself even thought it wasn't a perfect skirt, I feel. I'll be making another one sometime next week. Can't wait to go get some fabric tommorrow. Cheers!

My first prototype

3hrs of hard work making a protype of a skirt! I'm finally satisfied with this. Tomorrow, I shall start making the real one. Hope I'll be able to wear it next week. This first reason
for trying out tailoring is that I'm so interested. Second, I realized that on an average a skirt sold in market is about S$30+. So after checking out the necessary materials, I found that it is actually about 50% cheaper when the cost workmanship is ignored.
